What I’m after

Four things,
mainly

Most wanted

Portraits

People with something going on — musicians, makers, athletes, anyone who’d rather not look like a headshot. On location, natural light first.

  • 1–2 hours, one location
  • 25+ edited images
  • Yours to use anywhere

Models

Tests and portfolio work. If you’re building your own book, this trade runs both ways — you need frames, I need frames, nobody needs an invoice. Agency-signed or not, doesn’t matter.

  • Test shoots & portfolio builds
  • Multiple looks per session
  • Full edited set, yours to submit

Clothing

Brands, drops, one-off pieces. Lookbooks, product shots, campaign frames. If you’re making clothes and need images that don’t look like everyone else’s, this is the one.

  • Half day, studio or location
  • Full edited set, web + print
  • Commercial use included

Cars

Builds, track days, one-offs, or something rough that you love anyway. Rolling shots, static sets, detail work. Film suits metal and paint better than anything.

  • Static, rolling or detail
  • Location scouted with you
  • Full edited set
Show me the car

Music videos, weddings, vlogs, podcasts — or something I haven’t thought of. I’ll shoot it. Pitch it anyway. The portfolio you’ve just looked through is mostly streets at night, so the bar for “interesting” is wherever you want it. Send the idea.

The trade

Straight swap

There is no invoice. What I want instead is the right to put the work in my portfolio.

We’ll put the usage terms in writing before the shoot — one page, plain English, so nobody is guessing later about where the images can appear.

Honest about the limits: I’m around Calgary, and I’m fitting these in around other work. If it needs a studio rental, permits, models, or a flight, that part isn’t free — but I’ll tell you the number up front and I’m not making anything on it.

This won’t last forever. Once the book is where I want it, this becomes a rate card.

Before you ask

How I work,
and how you stay
in control

A stranger on the internet offering free photography is a fair thing to be cautious about. So here is exactly how this runs — the same way for everyone, whether you’re a brand or someone I’ve never met.

It’s in writing first

  • You get the agreement to read before the day, not handed to you on location
  • Plain English, one page, no small print
  • Take it away and think about it — there’s no deadline
  • Change anything that doesn’t match what we discussed

Bring someone

  • You’re always welcome to bring a friend, partner or parent
  • No reason needed, and it never affects the shoot going ahead
  • First shoots can be somewhere public if you’d rather
  • You’ll know who else is there before you arrive

You can stop

  • Say stop and we stop — no explanation, nothing owed
  • Ask for any frame to be deleted on the spot and it goes
  • Pull your permission later and images come down
  • No direction that involves touching you

Your images stay yours

  • Never sold, licensed or handed to any third party
  • Never fed to AI or machine-learning services
  • Delivered by private, password-protected gallery
  • Full resolution, yours to use however you want

Nude, lingerie or other intimate work runs under a separate agreement, is 18+ only with photo ID verified, and is opt-in permission by permission — you choose individually where those images may and may not appear. If that’s the work you’re asking about, say so in your enquiry and I’ll send that agreement to read first.

Process

How it works

01

Pitch

Send the idea, the date and roughly where. A couple of sentences is plenty.

02

Plan

Short call to agree the shot list and sign off the one-page usage terms.

03

Shoot

Show up. Minimal direction, natural light where possible.

04

Deliver

Edited gallery inside two weeks. Download everything, keep it forever.

not by budget
