Portraits
People with something going on — musicians, makers, athletes, anyone who’d rather not look like a headshot. On location, natural light first.
- 1–2 hours, one location
- 25+ edited images
- Yours to use anywhere
I’m building my portfolio. That means I’m shooting at no charge — you get the images, I get the work in my book. No fee, no catch, no upsell at the end. Digital or film, your call.

Tests and portfolio work. If you’re building your own book, this trade runs both ways — you need frames, I need frames, nobody needs an invoice. Agency-signed or not, doesn’t matter.
Brands, drops, one-off pieces. Lookbooks, product shots, campaign frames. If you’re making clothes and need images that don’t look like everyone else’s, this is the one.
Builds, track days, one-offs, or something rough that you love anyway. Rolling shots, static sets, detail work. Film suits metal and paint better than anything.
Music videos, weddings, vlogs, podcasts — or something I haven’t thought of. I’ll shoot it. Pitch it anyway. The portfolio you’ve just looked through is mostly streets at night, so the bar for “interesting” is wherever you want it. Send the idea.
There is no invoice. What I want instead is the right to put the work in my portfolio.
We’ll put the usage terms in writing before the shoot — one page, plain English, so nobody is guessing later about where the images can appear.
Honest about the limits: I’m around Calgary, and I’m fitting these in around other work. If it needs a studio rental, permits, models, or a flight, that part isn’t free — but I’ll tell you the number up front and I’m not making anything on it.
This won’t last forever. Once the book is where I want it, this becomes a rate card.
A stranger on the internet offering free photography is a fair thing to be cautious about. So here is exactly how this runs — the same way for everyone, whether you’re a brand or someone I’ve never met.
Nude, lingerie or other intimate work runs under a separate agreement, is 18+ only with photo ID verified, and is opt-in permission by permission — you choose individually where those images may and may not appear. If that’s the work you’re asking about, say so in your enquiry and I’ll send that agreement to read first.
Send the idea, the date and roughly where. A couple of sentences is plenty.
Short call to agree the shot list and sign off the one-page usage terms.
Show up. Minimal direction, natural light where possible.
Edited gallery inside two weeks. Download everything, keep it forever.
